Prices are one-time and in USD. Validity runs from first connection, up to 30 days on the longest plan.

Why use an eSIM in Africa?

A travel eSIM replaces roaming charges with a fixed, prepaid price you pay before you leave. There is no plastic SIM to swap, nothing to collect at the airport and no shop queue on arrival — the profile is already on your phone, so data works as soon as you land in any covered country. Your usual number stays active on your primary line, so calls and two-factor codes still reach you.

How to choose a Africa eSIM

  • Match the data to your trip. Around 1 GB a day is enough for maps, messaging and browsing; double it if you stream or upload video.
  • Check the validity window. Plans here run up to 30 days and the clock starts at first connection, not at purchase.
  • Buy short, top up later. You can add another plan or a top-up from your account at any point during the trip.
  • Compare with a single-country plan. If you are staying in one place the whole time, a local eSIM is usually cheaper.

Device compatibility

You need an eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked phone: iPhone XR/XS and newer (except mainland China models), Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and many recent Motorola, Oppo and Huawei devices. Dial *#06# — if an EID number appears, your phone supports eSIM. Full list on the eSIM compatibility page.
